Going through !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! on Carscoops. I guess a hybrid Rams and Jeeps are on the way.
After reading through everything, I guess FCA will be all Jeep and Ram for the next two years, so expect to see a Jeep in every other driveway by 2018 in the US.

Whats HEV? I was thinking High Efficiency Vehicle, but there is also a PHEV - Hybrid Electric Vehicle and Partial Hybrid Electric Vehicle?

Only a mild hybrid according to that. Which is doesn’t make sense to me, but neither does a full hybrid.

Yep, Hybrid Electric Vehicle. You have to remember that Hybrids just increase city mileage by supplementing the battery at low speeds and from stops. Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles are extremely short range, relatively low speed all-electric vehicles that switch to a normal engine. Then you have the Electric Vehicles with range extenders which allows you to continue driving and charging the battery even when it’s depleted. Then you have All-Electric Vehicles which are, well, all electric. So when you’re out of juice, you’re done.
I have no idea what a “mild” hybrid is. Too me it sounds like a way to not worry about a seamless engine stop-start system and to get away with keeping half the engine’s cylinders deactivated without people getting pissed their HEMI doesn’t HEMI until 4,000 rpm.

Mild hybrid is a smaller, lighter battery and integrated control module and cool type alternator and belt (at least with the GM version) that acts as both a regen motor AND mild assist motor. The advantages of better stop start, and torque fill without the weight and complexity of engineering a complete drivetrain around a hybrid concept. Very modular.
I think its a neat concept, with the highest return on investment for hybridization. cheaper, lighter, simpler but with many of the hybrid benefits.

Interesting, so diesel Wrangler is confirmed, as is pickup. Will be interesting to see how well the update goes over.

I haven't gotten a chance to read the updated business plan because of slow Internet, but it seems they are giving up on sedans. Which makes no sense to me from a survivability stand point. I love FCA, but their lack of fuel efficient vehicles is increasingly worrisome.

It isn’t quite as bad as everyone is making it sound. They are simply going to pump out all the Jeep and Ram updates over the next two to three years and then worry about the rest. Their best selling brands are also the most behind emissions trajectories, so they’ll fix that as quickly as they can while making a killing in sales. Then they’ll ramp back up with Chrysler, Dodge, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Fiat, Lancia (?).
At least, that was my understanding. Same plan, just juggled around.

I'm getting the sense they'll build the 200 and Dart in Mexico for a while, then partner with someone for a new sedan. Hopefully Mazda (with minimal Chrysler tech going to Mazda)

True, I forget about how far mild hybrids have come.
